The press
Terms of sale.
What you agree to when you buy a book from us, written plainly and kept short.
In force from 13 September 2026
01Who you are dealing with
Danicarl Publishing is an independent press that sells its own list direct to readers. These terms cover this website, the accounts on it, and every PDF edition bought through it. They do not cover a printed or Kindle edition: those are sold to you by Amazon, under Amazon's terms, and this site only links to them. Buying from us, or opening an account, means you accept these terms. Write to hello@danicarl.com if any of it is unclear.
02Your account
You may buy as a guest. After a purchase we email a private sign-in link and create your shelf using the address proved at checkout, so the file can be downloaded again later. You may sign in with a password, a link we email, or Google. Signing in with Google is treated as you: we receive the name and the verified address Google holds for that account, never the Google password. If you choose a password here, keep it to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
If you forget the password, ask for a reset link from the sign-in page and we will email one to the address on the account. The link works once and expires in an hour. If you no longer reach that address, write to hello@danicarl.com and we will sort it out by hand.
03Prices and payment
Prices are shown on each book's page, and collected on the prices page, in US dollars. Any applicable tax is calculated and shown before you confirm payment. There is no postage, because nothing we sell here is posted. There is no membership or subscription. Payment is taken by Stripe on Stripe's own pages. We never see or hold your card number.
An order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when the payment clears and the order shows as paid. If a price is listed in obvious error, or a title turns out to be unavailable, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than fulfil it.
04Digital editions
A digital edition is licensed to you, not sold outright. You may read it, keep it, and move it between your own devices for as long as you like. The files carry no DRM, which is deliberate — we would rather trust you. In return, please do not upload them, share them publicly, or resell them.
Digital checkout asks you to expressly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that your change-of-mind cancellation right ends once downloading begins. We record the time and wording of that consent and repeat it in your receipt. Your rights if a file is faulty, wrong, or unavailable are unaffected.
Your shelf holds every digital edition you have bought and stays available while your account exists. Download the files and keep your own copies; they are yours whatever happens to this website.
05Printed and Kindle editions
We do not sell or post printed books. The paperback, hardcover and Kindle editions of our titles are printed, sold and shipped by Amazon, and the links on each book's page take you to Amazon to buy them.
That purchase is between you and Amazon. Their price — which may differ from any figure we have quoted them at — their postage, their delivery estimate, and their returns policy all apply, and we cannot alter, track, refund or replace an Amazon order. If a printed copy arrives damaged or the wrong title turns up, Amazon is who to tell. What we remain responsible for is the book itself: if a copy is misprinted or a listing of ours is wrong, write to hello@danicarl.com and we will correct it at the printer.
06The list changes
Titles come and go. We may withdraw a book from sale, change a price, or correct a listing at any time. Nothing already paid for is affected: a book you own stays on your shelf even after it leaves the catalogue.
07If you submit your writing
You may ask to write for the press. Submitting costs nothing and commits neither side: you keep every right in your work, and we take on no obligation to read within any particular time, to publish, or to explain a decision. Anything we do take on is agreed separately, in writing.
Please do not send confidential material through the submission form. Ideas are not property, and we may already be working on something similar.
08Fair use of the site
Read, buy, and download as much as you like. Do not attempt to reach other people's accounts or files, scrape the catalogue wholesale, or interfere with how the site runs. We may suspend an account that does.
09What we are responsible for
We are responsible for delivering the books you pay for. If we fail, our liability is limited to refunding what you paid for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, though we would rather it were.
10Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms; the date they came into force is at the top of this page. The terms in force when you place an order are the ones that govern it, so a later change cannot alter a purchase you have already made.
11Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are buying as a consumer elsewhere, this does not take away rights your local law gives you that cannot be waived.
12Reaching us
Write to hello@danicarl.com. It reaches the press directly, and we answer as quickly as we can.
